 New Furniture
We bought a new living room suite for our new house. I took some pics on she showroom floor of the store. I hope it isn't to cheesy. We now have a black entertainment center with silver pedestals and the cabinet doors are a silver decora. So this is what we went with, but this isn't at my house (and no I didn't buy these rugs). Anyway, ours set isn't at the warehouse yet. This is just a display.

This is the coffee table.

This is a huge (3x3 or 4x4) picture we
purchased to hang over the couch. The
frame looks like pipe cut in half and the
middle looks like (4) ceramic tiles painted
abstract. Sorry for the glare.

Display of sofa with coffee table and picture.

This is one of the two end tables.

This is the love seat.

This is the recliner/rocker.

We went with black leather. Hope it isn't
to cheesy. Anything will go with it and we
really like leather. It seems to hold up the
best for us. We got the sofa, love sit, picture,
coffee table, (2) end tables and the recliner.

 Wednesday Rambles
First of all, I would like to remind everyone that cares that The Hillz (spin off from Laguna Beach) is tonight. Woo-Hoo! Can't wait!

Last night Rescue Me came back on FX. I really like that show. I use to not be a big fan of Dennis Leary's, but he has changed my mind after this show came out.

I seen the commercial that Nip Tuck starts back in September.

The arts festival is going on in Downtown Dallas this weekend. Free admissions to museums, free concerts, and best of all - all kinds of food and drinks. Yummy!

My replacement at work starts on Monday. Can't wait to get training over with. So next week don't expect to see to much of me. I sure will miss all, but will get online at night to check on everyone. I'll have my "stupid" new hire list next week to post each day, I'm sure. LOL!

I seen a couple of funny pics, I couldn't refuse:

This sign above is something I so need. I
think that everyone that walks their dog,
lets their dog poop on my yard. Maybe they
are marking their territory after smelling
my dog. I don't know. Oh well, I guess it
is good fertilizer, right?

Above just speaks for itself. Romance or what?

pics of our weekend:

Above is Max and Jr riding aroud on the golf cart.

Above is Max chillingon the boat.

Above is Kacie (Max's sister) and I chillin' on the boat.

Above is JR heading into the water to jump on the boat.

Above is Travis and Kacie chillin' on the boat.

 Friday Fun
Well, I thought for Friday before a holiday weekend we should have some fun. Do you like bowling? So for extra fun have you ever hairball bowled? No, I'm not into cruelty to animals. I'm actually a big animal lover, but couldn't pass share the fun with each of you. Hope you enjoy and hope you have a great 3 day weekend (the ones of you who get 3 days and the others just a great weekend)! Here are the rules:

You just wait for the cat's head to get in a position and you "click", hoping for a strike . the score will accumulate ... you'll have to click the "continue" when it asks. The cat's head moves very fast. It IS addictive). ha !!!!!! you click continue after each frame

Thirteen Things about
Crap Going
on in my Head

1. My allergies are killing me. It is all in my chest. I'm going to the doctor today to get some meds before it gets worse.

2. I only have today and Friday left with my boss. After that he is on vacation for 3 weeks and I'll start my new job on June 19th. Yeah!

3. We hired someone to replace me yesterday. She will start June 5th. Double Yeah!

4. We are going to Branson, MO June 15-17. Any tips?

5. We went by our lot where our house is being built this past weekend. They have a load of sand to lay out to start the slab.

6. Max doesn't know yet, but may have to work all weekend. This screws up our weekend at the lake.

7. I'm hoping he doesn't work so we can go relax.

8. I have been slammed this week at work with my boss getting ready for vacation.

9. Has anyone noticed there hasn't been as many people blogging this week or is it just me?

10. I will be taking the dog to get groomed on Saturday morning and I'll post a pic of how cute he will look afterwards. Actually he won't look cute. We are shaving him, but he will feel better with this heat we are having.

11. School is coming to an end so I'm guessing traffic should start getting better during the break.

12. So what did you think about the American Idol winner?

13. I hope you have a great day and really appreciate you stopping by!

We have an interview at 9:00 am Central today at work. Hope they hire her and she starts right away. Then I can start my new job quicker.

Who do you think will win AI tonight?

We are going to Branson, MO June 15-17. Anyone live in the area or have visited? Any must see we need to do while we are there?

My allergies are killing me. I'm about to lose my voice. Good reason not to talk today. LOL!

Well, it is hump day. We are almost over the hump of the work week. So, happy hump day!

Does it seem like there hasn't been alot of bloggers around this week or is it just me?

Hope everyone has a great day! If I'm MIA this afternoon it is because they hired her and she started imediatley. I doubt it, but I have to have wishful thinking.

 Caitliin's B-day-Medeval Times
Well, my cousin Caitlin turned 14 today. Her mom bought the family tickets for a dinner and show at Medeval Times. Caitlin is in the pink shirt below:

We had to act like we were back in Medeval Times while we were there. You had to eat with your hands. No utensils whatsoever. This picture should give you a good idea:

The horses were amazing. They were so beautiful.

The knight (RED AND GOLD) we got to cheer for was so hot. He didn't win though.

Here is my mom and I. Yes, we favor alot. She is really dark though. I'm jealous I don't have time to fake bake as much as she does. Can I can't decide if I like my new hair cut or not.

Anyway, overall I had a great weekend. Hope evreyone else did too. My friend Leslie is turning 31 on Tuesday and a bunch of people went out to kick it country style at Red River. I hated to miss it, but my aunt had already purchased tickets for Medeval Times. Anyway, I have a hell week. This is the last week to put up with my boss. After this week he is on vacation for 3 1/2 weeks. When he returns I'll be at my new job. Yeah! He will be beside himself this week. We have to hire someone and I have to prepare to do year end the following week. So if I'm not around much this week you know why. I'll be back in full stroke the following week, unless I'm training. Then I'll be around at night. Have a good one!

 Hair Cut
I chopped my hair off on Saturday. Yes, I did. I got a wild hair and did it. I even have bangs now. Am I crazy or what? It was unhealthy and had old blonde coloring on the bottom of the back that really needed to be cut off. Max absolutely hates it. He is so mean. He said he can't even hardly look at me. How mean is that? It feels much better. My mom and aunt see it and liked it much better. Well I ended up cutting 9 inches off the back. Yes, 9. Here is a pic I found around Christmas (so it has grown quite a bit since then) so you can get an idea of the before pic:

I know the pic doesn't even show the full length. It was really long. Well, here is the new do. Tell me you hate it. It won't hurt my feelings. I can let it grow back healthy now. I'm thinking I need some blonde highlights. What do you think? Although that is kind of high maintenance to keep doing and I'm turning into a low maintenance kind of gal and damaging to the hair which I just got cut off. Well, here comes the after pic:

American Idol & Local Radio Channel
We have a great radio station here KISS FM 106.1. This stations is syndicated so some of you may get it in other states. Kidd Kraddick in the morning is a great talk show with some pop music too. Well they are doing a contest at an IHOP outside of Dallas. The winner wins a trip next week for both nights of American Idol and gets to stay at some nice hotel. I haven't got to listen real well. On Tuesday (I think it was Tuesday, maybe Wednesday - I'm sure if someone knows about it they will correct me in the comments) they announced this contest and told people where to meet up. Your only allowed one person per vehicle. You have to stay at the IHOP parking lot, in your car and listen to William Hung (However you spell that crazy guy that tried out for AI a few years ago and got a CD out of it). Here is the kicker, you are only give to potty breaks a day. One at 8 am and one at 8 pm. This is a 5 minute break for everyone. They do bring you food to the car and stuff. Anyway, I had forgot I heard this on the radio on Tuesday. Well when I got up on Wednesday FOX 4 news was showing it on the tv. Yesterday I listened on the radio about it on the way to work. People were calling in with ideas to get people to quit. One person said to run water down their windshield to make them have to go pee, someone said to order them antchovie (however you spell this too) pizzas and let them eat 1/2 and the other half has to sit in their car all day to stink up. (It has been in the 90's here). Well this morning I came into work listening again. They are down to 6 people. They were about to start some contest to narrow it down to 4, then to 2. They have to pick a winner today to get their names on the airline tickets. Come to find out yesterday they had a contest to sing. The winner of it was allowed to get of the car and go into IHOP for a real sit down meal outside of the car. Well he was the only guy left this morning and the rest were women. He now has a stomach flu and said it was coming out both ends and he reamins in the contest. Why you may ask? Because him and his wife are having problems and she is a major fan. He thought if he won this for her it would be good for them to get away and she loves AI. Is this a true fight to get his wife back or what? I mean doing this with the stomach flu and all. Okay, now let me tell you about the contestant I have a problem with. She is a 19 year old pregnant girl. I feel sorry for her. Her dad died last October, she found out she was pregnant (unplanned and out of wedlock) in Novemember, her grandpa died in December and then her boyfriend dumper her in March. She is 7 months preganat. She wants to win to take her mom for being there so much for her during all of this. I understand that. She also told us she had been in the hospital for 10 days for kidney infections since she had been pregnant. Here is my question, if you have a history of kidney infections with the pregnancy how health is it for her to do a contest that only allows her to pee twice a day for 3 days? Isn't this putting herselp and possibly the baby at risk? I have never been pregnant, but is this stupid or just me? Anyway, I guess we will find out who wins today. I just wanted to vent about this and hear your thoughts. This is all I got, how do you like that?

Have a great weekend!

 Misc Ramblings
We are going Saturday night to Medieval Times in Dallas for my cousin Caitlin's b-day. I think it will be a blast. We have front or second row seating and get a complimentary souvenir and dinner with our show tickets. My aunt paid for everyones for my cousin's b-day. How cool is that. I think it will be fun. I will take alot of picture. I went there once on a blind date. It was a horrible experience due to the guy. I had to get up and sneak out and have a friend pick me up from the date. Crazy, hun? That is a story for a different day.

I feel so much better to have turned in my notice. (see the last few post for more information) We have got a ton of emails and not one person with the software experience. Do people not pay attention to detail, but expect to still get the job?

I have one all time favorite song. Last night I went to bed and turned on the TV. The movie Notting Hill will Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts was on and they played my favorite song. I never realized it was in that movie. This was a different singer singing the song that I'm use to. I have heard many versions. My favorite version is a duet by country singers Keith Whitley and Allison Krause. The song is You Say It Best When You Say Nothing At All. If you have ever loved someone or still do this will really touch your heart even if your not a country singer. Here are the lyrics:

It’s amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don’t say a thing
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all
All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Old mr. webster could never define
What’s being said between your heart and mine
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

 Monday
Well, I came in extra early this morning for work. We usually have a weekly meeting at 7:30 am every Monday. No one had the decency to contact me that they cancelled the meeting. I was here before 7:00 am. Ugh! It is kind of funny. I had this feeling this morning that this was going to happen. Weird, hun? Anyway, doesn't make me happy. To top it off the boss left town last night for a job in Sacramento. This was a last minute meeting. So he will be back today, but we prolly won't see him at the office till tommorrow. We will prolly reschedule our meeting for tommorrow, so I'll have to come in early again. That aggravates me since I don't want to be here anymore than I have to with the pressure of quitting. (If anyone doesn't know what is going on, go down to Friday's post below.) So, now I have to wait till tommorrow to turn in my notice. My stomach is all mush and I'm so stressed out. The day is already dragging. Hope your Monday is better than mine!

 Tribute to Mother's Day
Why God made moms" answers given by elementary school age children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other Mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your Mom?
1. My Mom has always been my Mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did Mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your Mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms and dads?
1. Moms work at work & work at home, & dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your Mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your Mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on her back.

==============================

THE MOMMY TESTI was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been laying outside, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Wow! How do you know all this stuff?" "Uh," ...I was thinking quickly, " All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy." We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. "OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy.""Exactly" I replied back with a big smile on my face and joy in my heart

 Need Your Opinion
I got an email yesterday from an old boss. Let me give you the background on the old boss and why I left. I was so happy working with him. It is where I met Max. They started having financial problems, so I was forced to find another job. I left, then Max did. Have all our eggs in one basket was scary. Shortly after we left he closed down and someone else bought the place and re-opened under another name and do a little different type of work, but the same industry. He still runs the place.

It is less than 1 mile from where our house is being built. Out of the blue yesterday he asked if I would be interested in working close to home. This came out of left field. Who wouldn't with gas prices, right? Anyway, we emailed back and forth all day. We discussed money, benefits and etc. It would be a little more money. About $200 more a month. Not much, but a little. Health insurance is better. I would have maternity on there where I don't now. It is casual dress 8-5, I could go home ever day at lunch. If I started before we move I would have to commute until then, but there is no traffice either way and would be more miles, but probably less time on the road due to traffic. Also I would be out there to go check on the construction of the house so Max and I wouldn't have to take so many trips in the evenings.

I like my job now okay, but it isn't my dream job by any means. I am loyal and feel bad for leaving or even wanting to leave. My old boss told me I could put in a notice and stay until they found someone to train. He would work with me. Just let me know the date I would for sure be there and he would have the position open for me. I wouldn't have to do any accounting anymore, which would be a great stress reliever. So, what do you think? I'm so stressed about possibly giving my notice. I have an email to my old boss to meet him today for lunch. I want to talk to him in person before I make any moves. Please tell your thoughts. I need some support in a bad way.

Have a great weekend!

One day, in line at the company cafeteria, Joe says to Mike behind him, "My elbow hurts like hell. I guess I'd better see a doctor." "Listen, you don't have to spend that kind of money," Mike replies. "There's a diagnostic computer down at Wal-Mart. Just give it a urine sample and the computer will tell you what's wrong and what to do about it. It takes ten seconds and costs ten dollars . . . A lot cheaper than a doctor." So, Joe deposits a urine sample in a small jar and takes it to Wal-Mart. He deposits ten dollars, and the computer lights up and asks for the urine sample. He pours the sample into the slot and waits. Ten seconds later, the computer ejects a printout: "You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water and avoid heavy activity. It will improve in two weeks. Thank you for shopping @ Wal-Mart." That evening, while thinking how amazing this new technology was, Joe began wondering if the computer could be fooled. He mixed some tap water, a stool sample from his dog, urine samples from his wife and daughter, and a sperm sample for good measure. Joe hurries back to Wal-Mart, eager to check the results. He deposits ten dollars, pours in his concoction, and awaits the results. The computer prints the following:
1. Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. (Aisle 9)
2. Your dog has ringworm. Bathe him with anti-fungal shampoo. (Aisle 7)
3. Your daughter has a cocaine habit. Get her into rehab.
4. Your wife is pregnant. Twins. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer.
5. If you don't stop playing with yourself, your elbow will never get better!
Thank you for shopping @ Wal-Mart

 Bless The USA

It is time to change from REDNECK humor to TRUE AMERICAN Humor! Only I don't see it as Humor, but the correct way to LIVE YOUR LIFE ! If you feel the same, pass this on to your True American friends. Ya'll know who ya' are... You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under God." You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places. You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You still say "Christmas" instead of "Winter Festival." You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You bow your head when someone prays. You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem. You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You treat Viet Nam vets with great respect, and always have. You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You've never burned an American flag. You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is listening. You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same. You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You'd give your last dollar to a friend. If you got this email from me, it is because I believe that you, like me, have just enough TRUE AMERICAN in you to have the same beliefs as those talked about in this email.
God Bless the U S A !

 Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a date of great importance for the Mexican and Chicano communities. It marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla. Althought the Mexican army was eventually defeated, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to represent a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism. With this victory, Mexico demonstrated to the world that Mexico and all of Latin America were willing to defend themselves of any foreign intervention. Especially those from imperialist states bent on world conquest.
Cinco de Mayo's history has its roots in the French Occupation of Mexico. The French occupation took shape in the aftermath of the Mexican-American War of 1846-48. With this war, Mexico entered a period of national crisis during the 1850's. Years of not only fighting the Americans but also a Civil War, had left Mexico devastated and bankrupt. On July 17, 1861, President Benito Juarez issued a moratorium in which all foreign debt payments would be suspended for a brief period of two years, with the promise that after this period, payments would resume.
The English, Spanish and French refused to allow president Juarez to do this, and instead decided to invade Mexico and get payments by whatever means necessary. The Spanish and English eventually withdrew, but the French refused to leave. Their intention was to create an Empire in Mexico under Napoleon III. Some have argued that the true French occupation was a response to growing American power and to the Monroe Doctrine (America for the Americans). Napoleon III believed that if the United States was allowed to prosper indescriminantly, it would eventually become a power in and of itself.
In 1862, the French army began its advance. Under General Ignacio Zaragoza, 5,000 ill-equipped Mestizo and Zapotec Indians defeated the French army in what came to be known as the "Batalla de Puebla" on the fifth of May.
In the United States, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to be known as simply "5 de Mayo" and unfortunately, many people wrongly equate it with Mexican Independence which was on September 16, 1810, nearly a fifty year difference. Over, the years Cinco de Mayo has become very commercialized and many people see this holiday as a time for fun and dance. Oddly enough, Cinco de Mayo has become more of Chicano holiday than a Mexican one. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on a much larger scale here in the United States than it is in Mexico. People of Mexican descent in the United States celebrate this significant day by having parades, mariachi music, folklorico dancing and other types of festive activities.

Hump Day- What is in a Name?
First, I would like to say happy hump day to all! I should be back in full force Friday. I tried to make my rounds yesterday afternoon, but blogger only let me comments on some blogs and not others. I couldn't even comment on my own. Was anyone else experiencing this? Anyway, what is in a name?

All of these are legitimate companies dealing in regular products
and services, but they didn't think their domain names through !!!!!!
Take note of their 'Domain Names' !!!!!!!!!!

Some of them are prime candidates for the
"What was I thinking?" Award !!!!!!!!!!!

ALL of these websites actually exist, selling something totally benign,
(and work - safe, in case you're wondering).

1). A site called 'Who represents' where you can find the name of
The agent that represents a celebrity.
Their domain name is: www.whorepresents.com

2). 'Experts Exchange', a knowledge base where programmers can
Exchange advice and views at: www.expertsexchange.com

3). Looking for a pen ????
Look no further than 'Pen Island' at: www.penisland.net

4). Need a 'therapist' ????
Try 'Therapist Finder' at: www.therapistfinder.com

5). Then of course, there's the 'Italian Power Generator Company' -
www.powergenitalia.com

6). And now, we have the Mole Station Native Nursery,
based in New South Wales: www.molestationnursery.com

7). If you're looking for computer software, there's always
www.ipanywhere.com

8). Welcome to the First Cumming Methodist Church.
Their website is www.cummingfirst.com

9). Then, of course, there's these brainless art designers,
and their whacky website: www.speedofart.com

10). Want to holiday in Lake Tahoe ??????
Try their brochure website at: www.gotahoe.com !!!!!!!

 Kidd Rock

Kidd Rock? Sexy? Trashy? Both? Neither? What do you think of Kidd Rock. He makes me think of that song by Hank Williams Jr., I Like My Women On The Trashy Side, except it would be me singing I Like My Men On The Trashy Side. I do believe he is humbly trashy, but there is something sexy about him. Argh! What do you think?
